Possession
Here's a plein air painting done at Possession Park. Late afternoon light is my favorite, especially this time of year. It's golden. For me the most challenging aspect of painting with oils is keeping colors clean and creating strong value contrasts. I have to remind myself to pull back on using white.

great thing about oils is how we can go so easily from light layers to heavy impasto. Love the colors in these ones. Thanks also for your support, Kris
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful painting!!! Love the touch of golden sunlight.
ReplyDeletebtw missed you over the summer. Hope you had a good one.
ReplyDeleteHey thanks, Isabel and Sue! Though I started as an oil painter, it's still quite the challenge to pick up again. But it's a real pleasure to work with. So silky. Sue, been having health issues this year, but not life threatening. Neurological stuff. Getting old is not for the faint of heart!
