Crystalline Nights

The evenings here in the Northwest have been cold and clear with a sky of intense blue at dusk. Beautiful and jewel-like. Some new watercolors in the palette of these nights just arrived in the mail so I tried them out on rough paper. Laurelines recommended the colors; Lunar Black and Lunar Blue. I also added a bit of Manganese blue and then drew a sanguine line on top of the wash.

  3. So did you love the lunar ones??? I really like the results you got here---the sanguine adds a perfect complement to all that moony coolness ;D.

  4. Aahh, sanguine is sanguine. The DS Lunars are a real treat! They have very nice precipitory character and the colors are natural. I loved how the lunars reacted with the maganese. Absolutely thrilling to watch them disperse as I painted. (doesn't take much) Oh, and I also picked up three of the Loew-Cornell Ultra Round brushes. They are now my favorite, everydays. Thanks, Laure, for the tips, and for dropping by!
