Langley in Spring

Spent a little time this afternoon getting in a sketch of the flowering plums at the entrance to Langley before the rain moved in. I love passing through the canopy of fluffy limbs, floating petals and swirls of pink on the ground as I drive. The sky was darkening as I painted, so I quickly wrapped it up and headed down the road to the cemetery.

Here's the sketch from the Langley cemetery. A beautiful, peaceful place. It was an opportunity to work wet in wet. Also use some deep values.
